Are you talking as in the mage assisting with duo casting? Because cougar with pots and trying to heal does not survive

My point was having cougar as a tank and assisting by heals and support. If you’re able to do this please let me know how you’re doing it lol

Also, even when I end up duo casting, AOE wipes out cougar so you end up fighting boss how an INT mage would, just weaker

3-4 people saying cougar is broken and sucks. 1 person who never leaves L4 says it’s fine. Cant be broken then

I think I've been cougar mage the longest on the server and never complained cougar is underperforming. It's very talkative though 🤣

I don’t think you’re lying I’m honestly interested in how you did it. I’m going by my own experience and with cougar and yahee specifically, cougar was killed quick even with me trying to CM, Imm myself, heal myself and the cougar. If you ever do solo it again, I personally want a video to learn how to do it.

I still think a summon talent tree or I2H would be the best solution and I don’t know how you’d not think that’s fair.

On other servers, cougar can solo Yahee but requires other mages to assist in healing. Which I have be part of. There plenty more bosses I have been able to solo with cougar but not here and there appears to be more benefits for cougar here and it still can’t do it. Even HM1 KV shouldn’t be impossible. Iris drops ass and cougar also can’t do it. I have used full heal, gheal, healing scrolls, I even tried feeding a clears to cougar.

Please don’t try to say it’s a skill issue. I even have charms for pets/summons.

I swap to INT mage and double cast all these bosses without any issues. I don’t even need CM.

Again, instead of taking my word or whoever plays Oz, I continue to insist Mephi test himself. Shouldn’t be hard at all to see.

DK boss appears to be one of the few laughable bosses for cougar.

With how shitty cougar is and how shitty destroy is there is a dwindling need for mage.

Yeah, I agree. The purpose of this thread is to try and make people want to be anything other than INT. I initially thought the point of being cougar mage was to boss hunt the ones INT mages could not.

I mean INT mages will still use summons, let’s say those ants that shoot and get 2. As max cha mage, I get 2 additional but lose out on spell damage. Some bosses I switch to those ants because cougar gets wiped out and ants keep distance. But if I’m going to play that way, why wouldn’t I just go INT mage with 2.

It’s just a shame that I thought I’d have 2 major choices with either being PVP ready as INT or cha for PVE dominance. That’s not the case here

I use the ants because of that but again, I point out, destroy is ass too. Mage is ass in general. Try cougar? Dies and you have every con of low hp, mp, sp, mr, spell chance success, MPR, etc. Go int? Still weak except a couple hundred more hp, mp, like 6 sp and still if you land a debuff you lose to a knight who is decay pot.

if the goal is to stand and heal a cougar, it will never kill every boss in the game

nor will 1000 messages surrounding it turn cougar into something you can kill every boss with whilst almost afk

what i see one server did instead is reduce monster magic damage against all pets/summons by a percentage

something like this could be more interesting to dive into more, and i have newfound motivation for character talents etc but we're probably not at a point where the playerbase is able to deal with more customization

reduced immune somehow on summons isnt such an awful thought either

I feel I've seen messages here and there about magic dmg vs all pets etc

Just want to give 2cents here. I appreciate mephi and the team hard work. But this is another cupcake customization people asking here AGAIN. Always asking for easy lineage. Few weeks later the elf is going to come up here screaming unfair or their pets is not as strong as mage that can immu their pets then demand for a buff again

Not a cupcake customization. People are just trying to make another type of mage viable. Pet line has a talent tree…. So how is asking for a summon talent tree not reasonable? We only associate cougar for this build because it’s end game so it may sound like, cougar cougar cougar but I use several other summons for different situations.

In the end, whatever mephi and the GMs decide that’s what it will be. But coming in and just assuming it’s a BS ask or “cupcake” is pretty ignorant

what could also make some damage seem high is the fact that MR works as a chance to reduce magic damage there

100% MR = 100% chance to reduce magic damage by 50%

75% MR = 75% chance to reduce magic damage by 50%

instead of damage being either or, it could scale in a linear way, same difference in the end probably but more predictable

for MR under 100

This is not a 2Cents, is a direct attack against people asking for Cougar improvement.

I2H a single summon is not asking to I2H pets, you know that?

Pets can level, they have talents, they even can be sold, Cougar doesn’t.

The whole point of Cougar is to have an easier PvE time against bosses and farming at the expense of XP and useful stats.

I read Oz says it works, that’s one person against the rest of the server, because who else is using Cougar? If we all are doing it wrong, a video on how to use it to survive would be awesome.

You can clearly see, and it was already stated by Mephi, how many of these bosses spam their magic abilities and/or prioritize specific abilities on pets or summons. It’s literally said in this post.

If the cougar has been buffed so much then please nerf it.

Even as an INT mage, KV spams EQ back to back to back to back to back to back and the only way I survive is double casting, which was only ever used for larger bosses like dragons. Iris spams tornado and watch out if she has a clone. ID and IQ spam their magic abilities too back to back to back to back.

Those bosses (kv, iris, ice demon) pretty much require stacking the correct ele resist. But Iris, KV, and ID are easy for mage summons. The level 56 ant ranged summons have more range than Iris tornadoes and KV meteors, and ID lightning storm. Cougar mage has the cha to summon 4. You just have to face tank it with resist rings and other gear and/or cm scrolls.

I haven’t bothered trying out Cougar yet because int and sp scaling in this game is clearly way more interesting. summons basically have zero scaling with your gear. But other than that what is the problem with Cougar? Does it pull aggro too fast? Seems you could just kite iris or kv around for a bit building aggro with eruption before you unleash the Cougar on them. Does that not work? Does it just need to generate less threat?
