So the auction house web interface is awesome. Not sure if you ever plan to add capability to store adena and place buy orders, but that would be great and help with the current listings system over weighting ask prices and underrepresenting bid prices.
The current price history information is inflationary and could use improvement. One of the main problems is it includes sale listings, not just actual completed transactions (fair market prices people agreed upon). This overweights people’s price estimates to the ask side and away from the bid side. This results in lots of listings that just linger (like our current real estate market) because ask prices have drifted artificially high.
It would also be helpful to see volume of items transacted at a given price.
A current example. If you use price history for enchant accessory scrolls, you might conclude these are consistently worth nearly $1 mil each. However, lots of untracked trades off the auction house amongst individuals and to buy shops sell these for more like 650-750k ea. Indeed if you look at one of the most commonly sold +6 items (ring of magic resist) they tend to go for about 80 million. I already did the math so you don’t have to. It’s approximately 40 +0 items and 112.5 scrolls as the expected value to make a +6 accessory from +0. Assume 2 mil for the 40 rings (50k ea) puts the acc scroll at 78 mil / 112.5 = 693.3k ea. While enchanted items don’t necessarily sell at their expected value to create, it’s always a useful benchmark to assess the price.
