I have played servers where if you switch elements as an elf, you lose ability to use other elemental line spells, but you don't lose permanently. For example. Switching from Fire to Water, you can't use fire spells anymore, but when you switch back to fire, you can if you had before. Basically it doesn't delete elf spells when you switch elements. You can just only use the element you currently select.

Nope. Dont like. This game needs item sinks. Doing this will only have a negative impact on economy. Demand will never increase more than what it was beginning of server. The only direction is down. Things will cost less FASTER as supply grows and demand diminishes. Just my two cents.
I agree with Xelakrap. Spirit Crystals would become worthless if this system were put in.
Not any different from Spell books. Mages and other classes get spells forever . Why should elves be punished in comparison?
Mages gain broad spell access as part of their core class design and spellbooks are rarer. Elves instead gain flexibility through elemental switching, but that flexibility is balanced by commitment and relearning costs. The systems are intentionally different, not unequal.
Many elf crystals are just as rare as spellbooks. Take Meteor vs Soul of Flame. Soul of Flame is more rare. A lot more stuff drops Meteor and things that can be farmed.
I get your point though, I just don't fully agree.
This is one of those systems we could put on a poll as well to see what people prefer. I don’t hate it as I play elf and it would be super convenient. I do like that people have to choose and balance the commitment to their line. If not people will be hard switching constantly for siege vs group hunting vs solo hunting.
Maybe that's where the 1mil switch cost comes in to balance that Shady suggested. That would add up quick if people were switching a lot.
Switch cost plus a limited number of switches per week/month? I’ll talk it over with the team and we’ll create a poll to see how the server responds.
Not decided yet: switching elements still removes your old element's spells. The idea, and a possible poll, is with Mephi.
