Suggesting to add more context and transparency to server polls

Acknowledging the following before continuing, and all of this is written in good faith:

  • a lot of players can mostly piece together why a poll or patch is being presented
  • Admin can run things however they want, best we can do is make suggestions
  • I like the democratic "runescape" approach of allowing players to have an impact on the server
  • not all polls need additional context, sometimes they are just temperature checks on the community.

I'm suggesting that polls contain a little more of the "why" when they are being presented, so that some of the less informed players get the full context before casting their vote. Not all players interact with the content being affected by the polls, but one day maybe they will, and potentially regret their vote once they experience the change.

Is the poll being presented to solve a problem? If so, what is the problem we believe needs to be addressed?

Is the poll in response to player feedback, and/or compiled from the improvements channel?

Is the poll being presented as an idea GMs believe would improve gameplay?

Ultimately, I believe expanding on the context of the polls that impact gameplay would go a long way to inform the votes.

Thanks, good point. We will try to give more background with future polls.
